Recently, former Owatonna School Teacher, Ron Harten made a Living Legacy donation to the Owatonna Foundation. Although Ron now resides in Arizona his passion for Owatonna and his commitment to our community was evidenced when he returned to Owatonna to host a reunion of the Indianettes Dance Line that he helped to organize in 1965. “We are very appreciative of Ron’s gift to the Foundation. It is his hope that others will follow his lead and support the Foundation’s mission of improving the quality of life for present and future generations by supporting Owatonna projects that focus on community, arts, recreation, and education.” said Foundation Executive Director, Laura Resler. To become a Legacy Society member a donor can make a Living Legacy gift of $10,000 or more during their lifetime, or promise a gift in any amount as a bequest in their will.

The Owatonna Foundation, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, was established in 1958 with the goal of improving the quality of life for present and future generations of Owatonna residents. Since then, the Owatonna Foundation has invested more than $11.8 million dollars in grants for capital projects to support Owatonna projects in the areas of community, arts, recreation, and education, and annually awards $30,000 in scholarships for both traditional and non-traditional students.
