Recreation Capital Grants

SoccerScoreboard250.jpg

The Owatonna Foundation was instrumental in helping the Owatonna Soccer Association build the Owatonna Soccer Complex — one of the best soccer complexes in the State of Minnesota. The complex consists of nine fields to accommodate all age groups.  The Owatonna Soccer Complex is a wonderful asset to our community and is used by thousands of young people in Park and Recreation programs, the Owatonna Soccer Association traveling programs, high school athletic programs and several local adult teams. Coaches, players and fans from other communities positively comment about the Owatonna soccer complex.

For decades the idea of an outdoor swimming facility in Owatonna has been in the hearts and minds of its community members. Thanks in great part to the leadership grant by the Owatonna Foundation, this dream is finally a reality, with opening of the pool in the Spring of 2009. The Owatonna Community Aquatic Center offers recreational and competitive swimming opportunities for individuals of all ages. The facility is built in a safe location where young people can learn to swim and develop water safety awareness.
