Dennis Von Ruden

Dennis Von Ruden joined the Owatonna Foundation as a Trustee in 2014 and serves on the Scholarship Committee. He is a lifelong resident of Owatonna, having graduated from Marian High School in 1969. He obtained a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1974. Dennis is a second-generation President/Owner of General Equipment Company, a family-owned manufacturer of specialized light construction equipment serving the construction, safety and industrial market segments. He is a past board member of the American Rental Association and currently serves on the board of the Gamehaven Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He holds several product design patents and continues to be involved with new product design along with sales and marketing related activities. Dennis has authored numerous product related articles for trade publications and delivered lectures at industrial conferences. A special interest in career development provides engagement with area youth.  

 

Dennis and his wife Julie are parents to three grown children and involved grandparents to two young children. Outside interests include being an active pilot for over 50 years and enjoying fishing, hunting, motorcycling as well as restoring automobiles and aircraft.
