Peng Olson
Peng Olson began her Owatonna Foundation Board of Trustees tenure in 2020. Her professional career is with Federated Insurance and started in 1993. As their Community Relations Manager, Peng is responsible for administering corporate charitable giving, employee volunteer initiatives and developing strategies to help advance company goals with business and community relationships. She holds a MA degree in Leadership and Organizational Management and an BS degree in Business Administration. Peng is passionate toward creating what’s possible and building collective power with purpose.
Over the past two decades, Peng has held various civic leadership positions. From creating grassroots advocacy campaigns that address community challenges to chairing a state legislative political race, she works to empower all community members to make our world a better place. In 2017, she initiated Owatonna Forward - a visioning movement to activate and inform the community’s desired future which has transitioned to the development of Engage Owatonna, an online community engagement platform.
An active volunteer in the Owatonna community, she currently serves on the boards for the United Way of Steele County, the Alliance for Greater Equity, and is a trustee with the Owatonna Foundation. She is happily married to Bob Olson employed with Owatonna Public Schools and together, they have three adult children.
