Owatonna Foundation Receives Donation from PowerBlock

Posted on February 24, 2016 by Laura ReslerFebruary 24, 2016

The Owatonna Foundation recently received a $3000.00 donation from PowerBlock.  PowerBlock Inc., a health and fitness company was founded in 1993.  They invented the nested dumbbell concept and remain an industry leader.  The company, which is headquartered in Owatonna, holds over 30 patents, distributes its products globally, and continues to invent products and expand its market presence.

“We’re so appreciative of this donation from PowerBlock. It is this continued community support that keeps the Foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life for present and future generations by supporting Owatonna projects that focus on community, education, the arts and recreation a reality for all of us that live in Owatonna.” said Foundation Executive Coordinator, Laura Resler.

The Owatonna Foundation, now in its 58th year of serving the Owatonna community, provides “brick and mortar” grants in Owatonna and its environs in four areas: Recreation, Education, Arts, and Community projects.  The Foundation also provides both traditional and non-traditional scholarships for 2 year colleges and technical schools.

The Foundation was established in 1957 with the goal of improving the quality of life for present and future generations of Owatonna residents.  Since then, the Owatonna Foundation has committed more than $11.5 million dollars in grants and scholarships to local organizations and students.
