Owatonna Foundation Announces September 1st Grants Deadline

Posted on August 22, 2017 by Laura ReslerAugust 22, 2017

The Owatonna Foundation, now in its 59th year of serving the Owatonna community, is pleased to announce its next grant application deadline on September 1, 2017. The Owatonna Foundation was established in 1957 with the goal of improving the quality of life for present and future generations of Owatonna residents.  Since then, the Owatonna Foundation has committed more than $11.75 million dollars in grants and scholarships to local organizations and students.

Owatonna-based nonprofit organizations that are working on capital type projects in the areas of community,  arts, education, and recreation may apply.

“The mission of the Owatonna Foundation is to improve the quality of life for present and future generations by supporting Owatonna projects that focus on community, arts, recreation, and education. We are thrilled to offer grant opportunities to the community again this fall.” said Foundation Executive Coordinator, Laura Resler.

Recently, the Owatonna Foundation has awarded grants to many community projects including the Steele County Free Fair for a new HVAC system,  an electric Zamboni for the Four Seasons Centre, Little Theatre of Owatonna for sound enhancement, the Owatonna Business Incubator for key fob access, St. Mary’s School for fire rated doors and walls, the Steele County Historical Society for Village of Yesteryear repairs, the dugout remodel at the Fairgrounds Park ball diamonds, and defibrillators for the Owatonna Dive Club.  Other funds went to recreation projects such as the scoreboard at Dartts Park as well as other arts & culture projects, to include the Arts Center’s new handicapped accessible entrance.

Complete grant guidelines and applications can be found at the Owatonna Foundation website at www.owatonnafoundation.org or by visiting the Owatonna Foundation office at 108 West Park Square in Owatonna.  For more information call Laura Resler, Executive Coordinator, at 507-455-2995 or email at info@owatonnafoundation.org.
