Owatonna Foundation and the Four Seasons Centre Announce the Arrival of a New Electric Zamboni Ice Machine

Posted on February 18, 2019 by Laura ReslerFebruary 18, 2019

Recently, a new electric Zamboni ice machine arrived at the Four Seasons Center. The machine was funded in part with a grant from the Owatonna Foundation. Citing new air quality standards mandated by the State of Minnesota for indoor ice facilities, the request for funding was granted by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “We are grateful to the Owatonna Foundation for their continued support. With the new air quality standards it was necessary to acquire the electric machine and the Foundation helped to make it possible.” said Four Seasons Centre Manager, Steve Schroht.

“We are pleased to be able to help fund this grant. The Foundation’s long history of supporting community projects such as this electric Zamboni has helped to enhance the quality of life in our community for over sixty years.” said Foundation Executive Director, Laura Resler. Any 501C3 non-profit with a capital project is encouraged to submit a grant to the Foundation for consideration. The grants deadlines are May 1st and September 1st. Grants for $25,000 or less may be approved for funding by the Grants Committee. Grants above that amount must first be recommended by the Grants Committee and then are presented to the full Board of Trustees for approval.

The Foundation was established in 1957 with the goal of improving the quality of life for present and future generations of Owatonna residents.  Since then, the Owatonna Foundation has invested more than $11.9 million dollars for grants to support Owatonna capital projects in the areas of community, art, recreation, and education and annually awards $30,000 in scholarships to both traditional and non-traditional students.
