Foundation Announces September Grants Deadline
The Owatonna Foundation announced its next grant application deadline as September 1, 2015. Owatonna-based nonprofit organizations that address one of the Foundation’s interest areas may apply. Applications and guidelines can be found at the Owatonna Foundation website or by contacting the Owatonna Foundation office at 507-455-2995.
The Owatonna Foundation, now in its 58th year of serving the Owatonna community, focuses its grant making in four areas: Recreation, Education, Arts, and Community projects. Unlike many other foundations, the Owatonna Foundation supports capital or “bricks and mortar” projects.
In the past year, the Owatonna Foundation has awarded grants totaling over $200,000. The largest percentage of those grants has gone to Community projects including a grant made to KODA Living Community to build a covered walkway between that facility and the Owatonna Hospital, a kitchen remodel and new equipment for Wee Pals Childcare Center, and new playground equipment at Lincoln School. Other funds went to Recreation projects such as the scoreboard at Dartts Park as well as other Arts & Culture Projects, to include the Arts center new handicapped accessible entrance.
Grant guidelines and application can be found at the Owatonna Foundation website at www.owatonnafoundation.org or by visiting the Owatonna Foundation office at 108 West Park Square in Owatonna.
