Angela Gonzales

Angela Wagner Gonzales is the Executive Director at the Owatonna Foundation. She began her career with the Foundation in August of 2021 as an Administrative Assistant, with the retirement of Laura Resler, the Foundation’s Executive Director and was quickly promoted to Executive Coordinator that Fall. Through her hard work and dedication to the Foundation and the community of Owatonna, she was promoted to Executive Director in June 2022.

 

She attended UW-Eau Claire where she received a BBA in Business Administration and minors in Public Relations and Organizational Communications. She started her career with Us Bancorp and the age of 26, she became the youngest Portfolio Manager at US Bancorp. She went on to marry and now has two grown sons, Reis and Reed. She raised her family in Hudson, WI, where she pursued her Master’s Degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration. She went on to run two of her own businesses. One was a consulting company AKWagner Consulting and helped various small businesses and nonprofits around the Hudson, Stillwater, and the Twin Cities in areas of Strategic Planning, Succession Planning, Management, Human Resources, Marketing, and Board/Volunteer Recruitment and Retainment.

 

She has always been an active volunteer in her community. She volunteered in Hudson for Operation Help, Youth Action Hudson, Hudson Soccer Association, Rivercrest Elementary School as a math and reading tutor, and was a Team Captain for JDRF’s (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund) One Walk at the Mall of America, raising thousands of dollars for Juvenile Diabetes.

 

She moved to Owatonna permanently in 2019 and is currently involved in many organizations in our community. She is a Big Sister for BBBS of Southern MN, a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer, Rotary member, member of Owatonna Business Women, and participates in OBP (Owatonna Business Partnership). She is passionate about her work with the Owatonna Foundation and sharing their 64-year history with the community. She is a strong proponent for building strong relationships, partnerships, and sponsorships that make Owatonna a wonderful place to work, live, and raise a family.
