Owatonna Foundation Announces Grants Deadline

The Owatonna Foundation announced its next grant application deadline as September 1, 2014.  Owatonna-based nonprofit organizations that address one of the Foundation’s interest areas may apply.  Applications and guidelines can be found at the Owatonna Foundation website or by contacting the Owatonna Foundation office at 507-455-2995.

The Owatonna Foundation, now in its 57th year of serving the Owatonna community, focuses its grant making in four areas: Recreation, Education, Arts, and Community projects.  Unlike many other foundations, the Owatonna Foundation supports capital or “bricks and mortar” projects. In the past year, the Owatonna Foundation has awarded grants totaling over $200,000.  The largest percentage of those grants has gone to Community projects including a grant made to KODA Living Community to build a covered walkway between that facility and the Owatonna Hospital.  Other funds went to Recreation projects such as the Soccer Scoreboard at the Soccer Fields and the Pickleball Courts at Morehouse Park as well as Arts & Culture Projects.

The Owatonna Foundation was established in 1957 with the goal of improving the quality of life for present and future generations of Owatonna residents.  Since then, the Owatonna Foundation has committed more than $11 million dollars in grants and scholarships to local organizations and students.
